Tamam Taverna Chania

Tamam is a Chania institution. In a lovingly restored Ottoman building in the old town, the taverna has served authentic Cretan dishes for years – from dakos and snails to lamb with stamnagathi and regional vegetarian specialities.

The atmosphere is everything you want from a real Cretan taverna: vaulted stone rooms, wooden tables, candlelight and the feeling of dining inside a piece of history. Generous portions, fair prices, relaxed vibe.

Centrally located – perfect after a stroll through the lanes and Venetian harbour. Reservation recommended in summer.

Tip: Try dakos and grilled octopus. Reserve for dinner. Combine with a harbour walk before or after.
